What It's All About

Philanthropy: "goodwill to fellow members of the human race; especially, an active effort to promote human welfare"

The annual Oakwood University Student Philanthropy Campaign (OUSP) is intended to procure a tradition of giving and a spirit of philanthropy starting before students leave the grounds of Oakwood University.

The OUSP Campaign provides an opportunity to emphasize the importance of philanthropy and gain a deeper understanding of the impact of philanthropy at OU. Student philanthropists aim to instill a spirit of giving, and advance the University through philanthropic endeavors, turning philanthropy into meaningful changes.

OUSP also focuses on investing, serving, and advancing local and global communities through volunteerism, fundraising, activism, and education. The campaign ultimately seeks to serve the Oakwood community, the Huntsville community, and the global community. Funds raised by the OUSP Campaign go towards the Oakwood University Annual Fund and is designated for annual philanthropic projects.

The 2014/2015 Blue & Gold Goes Green Recycling Challenge!

This year’s OUSP Campaign will raise funds to implement a campus recycling system to encourage recycling, and bring awareness to the importance of environmental sustainability in today’s world.Recycling bins are located near the dumpsters at each dorm, and outside the market and gym. Help us make this first step in making Oakwood a greener campus! OUSP aim's to raise $2,500 for the cause by March 31st, 2015.
