UNCF (United Negro College Fund) is the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. UNCF provides operating funds for 37 member historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), scholarships and internships for students at about 900 institutions and faculty and administrative professional training.
For more than 70 years, UNCF has raised more than $3.6 billion to help more than 400,000 students attend college and graduate from college. UNCF has distributed more funds to help minorities attend school than any entity outside of the U.S. government.
Relevant and responsive to our global economy, UNCF continues to raise funds to educate the best and the brightest among us despite their financial challenges. UNCF and its member schools continue to be at the forefront of the effort to create the next generation of professionals who will keep our nation competitive and secure our future.
Oakwood University is a proud member institution of the UNCF and thankful to the individuals and corporations that invest in the mission of the UNCF and our students across Alabama and the country. It is with a grateful heart and our pleasure that we coordinate the North Alabama Campaign each year to bring more awareness to the community about the impactful work of the UNCF, HBCUs, and our phenomenal graduates and student servant leaders.
The UNCF North Alabama Campaign theme is “Building Bridges to Opportunity.” We invite you to join us as a “Bridge Builder” by becoming a sponsor or donating to the UNCF North Alabama Campaign. You may also participate by attending one of Huntsville’s signature events, the Annual UNCF Gala.
All proceeds from the campaign support the 37 UNCF member colleges and universities, including the five institutions located in the state of Alabama—Miles College, Oakwood University, Stillman College, Talladega College, and Tuskegee University—and the thousands of students they serve.
